The olfactory trace of a day, in the final moments of a winter night

A winter night drawing to a close in the warmth of aged leather. The distant scent of a forgotten armchair, of notes worn since morning, of a few trials left on the wrist. In the dim corridor leading to sleep, amber keeps watch, saffron lingers. Vanilla resists the forgetting. Like the gilded frames, obstinate in catching what little light remains. A few more steps. The enveloping memory of a day that does not quite want to end.
